Chiyoko Noguchi,violin
Born in 1970, Chiyoko Noguchi studied at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music and the Julliard School. Before graduating from the Julliard School in 1993, she won the Julliard Concerto Competition and made her debut at the Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. And she also won the Young Artists Debut Award after winning the Artists International Audition, and made her NY debut at the Weil Hall of the Carnegie Hall. After she returned to Tokyo in 1995, she finished the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music, and was awarded the Special Award of the Wieniawski International Violin Competition in 1996. Her activities include the concert mistress of the Tokyo Solisten Ensemble and as a member of the Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo and the Ensemble Nomad. She teaches at the Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music.
In autumn 2002, her debut CD “Salt and Petter” was released by Victor. This is a CD of a unique ensemble with violin and percussion instruments performed by Yoshiko Kanda. In September 2003, she performed at the prestigious B→C recital series presented by the Tokyo Opera City Cultural Foundation. For 2004 and 2005, she is registered as one of the musicians to promote music activities organized by the Regional Cultural Foundation.
